Waiting nervously …

Wondering what it may be,

Will it be a girl or a boy baby?

If it’s a he,

Will he look like me?

Will he have my strengths?

Maybe suffer from my weaknesses?

I’m hoping he takes my looks,

But definitely be focused in his books.

If it’s a she,

What joyous times it will be!

Is she going to make us proud?

Will she stand out in a crowd?

Will she be ambitious without being pompous?

I hope your successes in life will be copious.

Planning for your future,

Dreading the sleepless nights,

Thinking of the happy times to come.

Hurry and be on your way,
