Penitent

Somber is my mood,

Penitent are my actions.

For all my sins with or without satisfaction,

I pray I overcome this affliction.

For many, I've discovered, through introspection.

Heavy on my soul is this burden,

Weary of what I've done to some.

Reflective is how I am,

Corrective is the destination,

Positive I will become through determination.

To hurt you was never my intention,

Focused I remain with deep concentration,

To understand all that I have missed,

To repeat them I must resist,

My love for you forever will persist.

For all the wrongs I have done,

For all the kindness you’ve shown.

For all the distress I have caused,

Now my life has been put on pause.

Without you, there is only emptiness,

All I long for is your tenderness.

Making these changes, I will, I must,

I wish to remove your veil of distrust.

Open and honest to you I am true,

Share all that I am, for me and for you.
